Is my insurance company even going to pay for it?
Well, if your regular doctor tries to prescribe it, maybe your insurance company is going to say no.
But if one of the top experts in the field is saying, look, this person needs it, and here's why they need it, and it's a lot cheaper than a heart transplant.
So my insurance company paid for it, and I'm on this miracle drug.
And one of my doctors at UCSF, I found him because he was...
recruiting for a clinical trial, the first ever phase two clinical trial on the combination of drugs that I'm on.
So I'm like, okay, well, I need to talk to this guy.
And then I see they canceled the clinical trial.
So then I'm like, okay, I really need to talk to this guy.
What do they know?
So the reason they canceled the clinical trial is they couldn't get enough patients.
So this is the paradox.
As you get to precision medicine, you had to have a smaller and smaller group of people.
You know, this already was rare.
And then I got this rare, you know, then this variant that narrows it down.
I got a specific version of that, which narrows it down.
And, you know, it's just like no one's going to do a clinical trial on it because it's just so.
So, but he said, look, I couldn't get enough patients for the clinical trial, but I've got a lot of patients who are doing just this.
And I think it's a good idea.
So, you know, it was a validation of this.
