Early on, I would do a shoot for free to just blow someone away with the work that I had the potential to do.
I would do it not for a discounted like, oh, it's $50 to shoot.
No, no, shoot for free.
Eat it.
Eat that cost to shoot that supermodel.
Eat that cost to shoot that actor who literally just got that starring role in that new movie.
Like, building your portfolio is about
working at times for nothing in order to get that work that later on is going to get you six figures.
But strategically knowing this is something to do for free because it's going to advance me and this is not going to advance me.
at all.
Me doing that for free helps the person that I'm shooting and it doesn't help me at all.
And learning how to differentiate between that helps them, me, not so much, and that helps me and it helps them.
And knowing the difference.
Your portfolio is your calling card.
It's your stepping stone.
It's your legacy.
And it's literally how you eat.
So you got to be so strategic.
And your portfolio, that's the thing that should keep you up at night, not Instagram.
Look in, not out.
