But, yeah, I mean, it starts really, I think, with the... It's about 98, the Leftfield soundtracked cinema advert, Fat Planet by Leftfield, which just throws Guinness into a whole other level of, like, A, they were on telly, but they were cinema adverts, and you went to see...
a massive blockbuster and you saw that beforehand and it looked as impressive as the blockbuster and you saw the flow of the Guinness flowing into the thing in time with the music and it just made you think, I want that.
Until about 1954, I think it is, before nitrogen got introduced.
So you would pour Guinness from a high pump.
I think it was the high first.
which was at high pressure, so that was the cream.
Pure froth.
It was frothy.
And then the low pump, which was the black, would go in afterwards, and then it would settle, and it would look pretty much like a pint you see these days.
But you'd have to have two casks.
It had to be very, very precise.
You had to be really good at it.
And yet it looked quite a crude process, if I remember rightly.
And then basically nitrogen is what changes it, and you can just do it from one cask, and it all settles.
And the way that they've got it now with the pours, which again, that was not a thing 20 years ago, certainly in pubs in Britain.
