And, you know, as I've said also a second ago, as someone that's working on a book myself, it's something I have to keep in mind, that local politics and regional politics, what's going on in a particular place matters just as much, if not more, than these large big picture trends.
And your book is a really great, shiny example of how that's the case.
And then for my last question, Jeff, I know this book has not been out for very long.
It came out earlier this year in 2025.
But historians, in my experience, often have a couple pots boiling at once.
I'm curious if you have any other projects that you've been working on or considering working on or anything like that you'd like to talk about and give a plug for.
Dr. Jeff Roche is a professor of history at the College of Worcester.
His new book is The Conservative Frontier, Texas and the Origins of the New Right, which came out earlier this year in 2025 with the University of Texas Press.
