So I think there's absolutely differences but throughout my career I have worked in all aspects of sport and business and I'll be able to bring those skills together in this particular role.

Well, I think the organisation, from the outside looking in, the organisation's done a lot of reflecting over recent times.

You will have seen that Alice Decker-Ruthers has recently been appointed as chair of the board.

I understand they're very close to announcing some new board members that will be joining the board shortly.

The board and I will need to make sure that there is a really clear strategy in place.

The board will obviously hold me to account with that strategy.

And I'm absolutely convinced that we can ensure that the sport is able to reach its potential into the future.

If I didn't believe that, I wouldn't have taken on the role.

I think they made a really smart decision in making sure that the CEO and the chair appointments were staggered.

So the CEO recruitment process started via one recruiter, and the chair process started via another recruiter, and the final stages of the CEO recruitment process

So for me going through the CEO process I had clarity on who the chair was going to be and who I was going to be working with into the future and that was a really important consideration for me.

I think sport is tougher than it's ever been.

It's a really tough environment out there, and I don't think that's unique to sport.

The commercial landscape is incredibly tough.

The pressures from participants, consumers, there's high expectations, and I think all of those things sort of converge in sport.

and as a result we're seeing some of the things that we're seeing but one of the things i think as a sector sport needs to do more of is we need to share those challenges and we need to share the tough times more certainly in confidence because the more we can understand what's happened when things go wrong the more we can try and mitigate it happening elsewhere into the future so i've been reflecting on a lot of what has been challenging throughout sport over recent years

It's really important I deeply understand it to the extent that I can with confidentiality and ensuring that we take those learnings from the sector forward and we ensure that Netball is stronger as a result.
