Because as you've said, schools are are on the hook here to pay back millions of dollars that those districts have already spent.
But instead because you they're gonna play this out f going forward over three years, they can spread out the pain a little bit here.
Correct.
But meantime you have some really nervous school district superintendents out there because on top of this loss in funding, schools are also at risk of funding changes if amendment five passes, that's the one that would eliminate the income tax going forward.
So what's being done to protect our schools and ensure they have the funding they need for teachers and kids to be successful?

You know, I'm gonna go back to people who were affected by property taxes in recent years because some people said they were losing their homes because of those twenty twenty three assessments.
So how is the county tracking down these people if in fact they have moved somewhere?
I mean they've they've left the county.
The the amount of money people are getting is that amount over fifteen percent.
That over a fifteen percent bump that some citizens received.
You can't go above that.
In some cases that happened in Jackson County, and that's the amount of money that people will be receiving back.
And one of your points is people are gonna get back all of those dollars, not a portion, everything over the fifteen percent.
Exactly.
So this judge is taking a look at this agreement.
At what point do you think we'll have an answer from the judge?
Okay, so that's happening, but you also pointed out that the school districts have a lawsuit here, so even if the judge signs off, it it people still may not be eligible for the money quite yet.
You know, one of the issues here that maybe gummed up the works for a little bit was that some taxpayers, when they finally signed off on whatever agreement they made with the county, they signed a stipulation that said they approved of the new value of their home.
And this agreement sort of takes those stipulations and tosses them out the window, if I understand correctly.
