I head along the trail up the mountain to the castle.

It perches there on the ridge just like a giant vulture overlooking the mountain pass between the two countries.

I push open a creaky metal door and go inside.

There are cobwebs all around the place and a couple of bats make passes at my head.

From the looks of the place, it isn't hard to see why the villagers think it's haunted.

I start outside, then I freeze.

There's a faint sound, like a clank of metal.

The pleasant picture of me hanging at the end of a chain suddenly flashes through my mind.

I try to shake it off.

Then I hear the clank again.

And this time I know it isn't my imagination.

I whirl around, but just then something hard wraps around my throat.

I try to get my hands up to it, but I can't.

It keeps getting tighter.

Everything's swimming in front of my eyes.

I try for one more breath, but I don't make it.
