I would never put pressure on the doctor to, you know, just tell me when he's ready.

And when he's ready, we'll see if there's time left in the season for him to pitch.

And if there is, I'd pitch him.

I wouldn't, you know, if there's if you get clearance on it.

and he's not going to injure himself in any way, and it's not premature, then I would put him back out there and do it and see what would happen the rest of the year if he gets back at some point.

But I think they have to be careful and not overdo it.

And that's kind of the issue right now.

With Tyone down, you savage down, you've got a four-man rotation, you're going to have to have a bullpen day on the most overworked bullpen in all of baseball.

And so that's where it just seems daunting to me.

And I know that they haven't made the playoffs in a while.

I know they're desperate to try to do it.

But he is your franchise.

And when a pitcher's velocity drops as significantly as it has, I think you have to back him off and shut him down.

I don't care who he is or where you are in the standings.

I think you have to protect him.

And so I'll be surprised if he makes another start, even if he says he's OK.
