The neocons desperately want to bring gambling to Texas.
Why?
I'm very libertarian on this issue.
Like if you want to have a card game and you want to gamble, what you do in your house is up to you.
It's none of my business.
But at the end of the day, if you're going to say this estate's sponsored and we're only going to give out two or three licenses and we're going to give them out to our friends,
that have given tons of campaign money, right?
Then it's corrupt.
It's crony capitalism to the max, right?
It doesn't improve people's lives.
And at the end of the day, you look at any of the states that have implemented it.
And we have a national treasurer in Houston by the name of Jim McInvale.
His name is Mattress Mac and he owns Gallery Furniture.
He's the most amazing man in the whole world.
And he's a gambler.
And he would say the worst thing that Texas could possibly do would be to bring gambling to Texas.
Why?
They build these billion-dollar resorts, right, with cash, these multinational corporations.
What happens to that money?
People go and gamble, and that money leaves our economy.
