a very important player like Jonathan David or Alphonso Davies or Moise Bambito, then they sort of need to be there no matter what.
And if you can get any minutes out of them at any stage, then it's worth it.
So there's this balance between a kind of measured squad and some understudies in certain areas and then obviously game changers and difference makers.
And so...
It's probably a little easier for Jesse Marsden to say Thomas Tuchel at England where there's only so many players he can pick from and even though the pool's got better it's still pretty sparse when it comes to the selections.
He really has to pick his best players and hopefully his fittest players in this 26-man roster and then hope that obviously recovery goes as well or better than expected.
It's a good question, Noodles.
I actually think realistically they can get out of the group.
I really do.
I think we've got to be optimistic and we have to push these guys to be at their absolute best.
If we want to achieve the maximum from having a home World Cup, we need this team to get out of the group stage.
We need them to progress to at least a knockout game.
The dream scenario is that they win the group and that they stay in Vancouver because I think having games in Canada...
is almost just as important you know to play a last 32 as a second or a third place team in the US would be great but it would be a little disappointing to think that there's knockout games in Canada and Canada won't be playing there so I think they should push themselves I do think Bosnia Canada is a pretty even game but
If both teams play well, I think Canada win that game.
I think Canada absolutely have to beat Qatar.
And then they're through and they're potentially playing Switzerland for a place at the top of the group.
So that is a dream scenario.
But I think we have to dream.
It's the whole point of being here at this stage.
