Welcome to Edge of the Forgotten Q&A session. Something like that, yeah. Here just about, what, a month or so? No, no, no or so. This is pretty much right at one month. Right at one month, 30 days maybe. Yeah. From the launch of season one. Yeah.
And I am Stephen James Scarce, and I am joined with... Bear Whiter. Who is our creator, co-creator, co-writer. You're co-everything. Or am I the co? I think we're both cos. All right. I mean, the original idea might have been mine, right? I had the core seed of the idea. We'll be able to talk about that here in a little bit, but...
Um, uh, you know, I've, uh, I've really tried to make sure that you're as involved as I am. I think you are. So, um, so yeah, I think we're, we're both co-creators of the show. Well, it has been my pleasure to be the co. There you go. Edge of the forgotten, uh, a, uh, soon to be released, uh, what you call a supernatural horror, uh,
Yeah. Narrated audio drama hybrid show. Yeah, I would say it's a hybrid show in that it has both narrated episodes as well as full cast audio drama episodes. It'll make sense when the show starts running.
For those who might hear this in the future, once the show's running, obviously we're recording this a month before our launch. We're sitting pretty well for the launch. It's going to be a lot of work still. But yeah, I think it's coming right up. Coming right up. What do you want to talk about first? You want to talk about inspirations, how this thing all got started? Because this goes back a couple of years for you.
Actually, it goes back, now that we're in 2026, as we record this, it is June of 2026, I would say this goes back to February of 2022, and that's when we started talking Station 151.
and we were talking about a number of different projects that we could record um station 151 obviously was what we ended up settling on as our first project we brought andy involved or along that with your brother who was the creator of station 151 along with you as creator of unknown transmission um but i wanted something that was going to be a little different and i thought something that would be easier to produce that was at least the original core seed of the idea
And the real seed was pairing weird stories to abandoned places. We would go through and tromp through abandoned places. We would film some stuff. We would record some stuff, take some photos. But, you know, urban exploration and then tell a weird story about that.
But, you know, as you start kind of kicking around ideas, things start hooking together. You start having repeat characters in mind. You know, the original idea was something that would be pretty easy to produce, right? It's purely narrated and add some sound effects or whatever.
But it wouldn't require costly voice actors and a lot of production time. And it sounded great back then. But I don't think it really had a whole lot of legs. But it always sat in the back of my mind for a couple of years while we were doing Station 151 things. And then probably a couple of years ago where we got more serious with it.
And, um, by that point, uh, we had done a lot of backstory thinking, um, world building. What's this all about? Um, um, where does this end up? Because that's important to me. I think to have a sense of where the show ends as you start writing the beginning. So that way you have all of these things that you can tie together along the way. We don't have all of the answers for all of the middle stuff, but we have a lot. Um, but, uh,
But yeah, that was kind of the genesis of it was let's do a narrated series of creepy, weird horror stuff that would be really simple and really cost effective to produce.
which changed. It did. Right. We are now, I think season one, just in voice actors alone. Um, we're probably going to be eight to $10,000 in investment on that side. Um, we've had a lot of, uh, writing and, uh, production and we still have a lot more of that to go, but, um,
Anyway, let's talk about what the show is and kind of what people can expect coming up. So, you know, I had said that it's a hybrid series where it has both the narrated episodes as well as full cast audio drama episodes.
Um, originally that the narrated side was let's save some money in the end. It's, it's more about telling stories in a different way. You know, when we have the, um, voice actors together, you're, you play one of the characters. Correct. I play Casey Krieg. Casey Krieg. Yep. Um, with the buddy, uh, Dante Bennett. Bennett. We do not name his last name until season two, but, uh, there is a, there's a little sneak peek for you. Dante Bennett. And, um,
But there's going to be 13 episodes that are narrated, 10 episodes that are live action in season one. So a total of 23 episodes. It's a big season. It's a lot of episodes. It's a big season for us. Yeah. We're used to, you know, make 12 episodes of Station 151. Right. Maybe, I don't know, what did we top out? Maybe 15? Yeah.
I think we've had 15 for season two. Right. You know, those episodes also usually top out at around 20 minutes, maybe a little bit longer. Usually a lot of them are 15 minutes. All of these, we have a few narrator episodes that'll probably be in that 15 to 18 minute range, but a lot of stuff is in the 20 minutes. A lot of stuff goes even into 30 minutes. So, you know, there's a lot of story there.
There is. It's meaty. Those people who like to kind of, you know, get into the flow of a show, you'll have plenty of time. Yeah. It'll be enjoyable. But going back to what it is. Yeah.
So it is a supernatural horror series that deals with forgotten and abandoned places and
what that means to our world. It is set in modern time. It is set in our world. It is, in fact, set a lot in the Midwest. We happen to be from the Midwest. We are currently sitting in Olathe, Kansas, which is in the suburbs of Kansas City. So if you know anything about the region, you will certainly know some of the places that we mentioned.
