I grew up fishing with my father in the Gulf of Mexico and Port O'Connor and in the Bay Area down there.

We would fish and we'd catch catfish, trout, catch sharks.

Sharks are good eating, you know, up to about, you know, four feet.

And what else?

We'll do a lot of floundering, walking around out there with Coleman Lantern and a gig.

Now they got those boats with the lights and it's all...

It ain't the same, but I grew up down there in South Texas fishing.

It was a big part of my life.

And that's the fishing I remembered.

And my dad knew the bays like the back of his hand because he'd been doing it for so long.

But out here, it just doesn't give me the same thrill.

And, you know, even when I was fishing with my father, if they weren't biting, you know, I wasn't really interested in just throwing a, you know,

a worm out there in the water and reel it back in with nothing attached to it.

When shit was on and my dad knew how to find the fish when shit was on, I loved to fish.

Oh yeah.

And, and yeah, but I hear, you know, it's like catch and release, you know, back then we were fishing for food.
