As a public official, it is not your job to just listen to experts and do what they do.
Because if that was the way this thing worked, we'd just elect all the experts.
There are people who want a technocratic society in which we don't vote for our representatives.
We just have a panel of smart people who make all the decisions for us.
That is not the way the country is constructed.
We have a constitution that is very, very clear here.
I mean, the First Amendment guarantees your right to express your religion.
