It's the moment.
It's the World Cup semifinal.
It is Argentina.
You're playing against the best player in the world.
And I think your instincts in that moment, if you have not been there consistently, is to say, well, this is the right thing
to do is to we've got the goal we've got the lead we need to defend now and we need to give ourselves the best chance of keeping that elusive clean sheet the zero on the on the scoreboard and i think the unfortunate consequence of that for england was by making by scoring the goal and by the way i i thought they played a really good game through 65 minutes and they get the goal
And they look in a great position.
But then what they did after that was what they had done in previous games.
They did that against Mexico's.
They were down a man.
They did that in the end against Norway.
And I think that Thomas Tuchel was naive to think that they could do that against not just the defending world champions, but the best player in the world, Lionel Messi.
What that did to the entire team, including himself, I was actually watching this, Colin.
He had Morgan Rogers, who was, sorry, he had Marcus Rashford, one of their attacking wingers, about to come into the game.
And then they scored.
And so then instantly he took him back to the bench and he got the defender ready and he put the defender in.
I think if he had just put Marcus Rashford in for Rodgers and said, look, we're going to get some fresh energy.
Hey, Marcus, you're going to have to defend a little bit more.
Argentina is going to come with it.
So just be careful.
