So the DSA has been around since 1982, but I would say I first started noticing them post Bernie 2016.
And that's really when DSA went from being an organization of people in their 60s and 70s to really a youth organization almost overnight.

So that's where we get into some of the weirdness at times where Bernie is an independent, will use the Democratic ballot line when he runs for president, but is not a member of DSA.
And Hassan Piker is the same way, where he does all this promo for DSA, but then will back off at the last minute and say, I'm not a member, as he literally has a DSA hat on.
So the DSA is a national organization that will have over 200 local chapters throughout the United States.
So that can look so different depending on where you are in the nation.
So even in deep red states, there are DSA chapters doing work
but they might not be on your radar because they aren't running elections.
So they might be showing up at city council and trying to get rid of shot spotter or flock.
Uh, so that's how they might look in a red state.
Everyone knows what's going on in New York city with DSA running elections.
And so depending on where you are in the nation, DSA might be doing anti ice work.
They might be going after, um,

They might be running someone for office.
