When he worked in the Bush campaign, everyone knew he was gay.

And, you know, Bush was very accepting.
Mrs. Bush had a group of gay male friends, kind of her best friends, and they were very comfortable in that world.
and there was a guy who was a driver for Bush, sort of almost an adopted son, and he was very concerned about coming out to Bush.

It couldn't have been more accepting.
But that's not Donald Trump.
That's not Stephen Miller.
It's anger and hatred that espouses itself.
The same anger that hates brown people is the same anger that hates gay people.
And it's, you know, Rick and I came from another strand of the party.
And I think it's fair to say that we thought we were the dominant gene.
And that the party would become that, if only because the country was changing so much.
