you know obviously off off the calls on the calls um and yeah i mean any any talk of you know rows and wars and stuff on the calls is couldn't be further from the truth you know the clubs have a great respect for each other um everyone realizes no one's going to win in this we're all going to lose um and absolutely every club has self-interest you know whether that's a club trying to qualify for the champions league spots that's a club trying to stay up that's that's a fact because you know
as custodians of the club every single club has a self-interest and you're lying if not you know with um you know steve parish last week i think was on his show of course he's dealing with self-interest so he should he's he's crystal palace bloke uh as norwich city will or as paul babble will so um yeah but i think there's it's more harmonious than people would probably like to maybe believe have you got your head around the fact now that it would seem
no in my opinion gary it needs to be settled on the pitch um not off the pitch because um you know a big question we have around restarting is it's fine if uh we restart and three teams get relegated and i appreciate what you're saying we're adrift but we we look at it as we're only six points off 16th rather than being adrift um but if we do that that's fine because that's where it should be played football should be played on the pitch not in the boardroom um
But the championship has to restart.
The championship has to start and play all their games also.
What we could not accept is a situation where we play out all our games, get relegated, but then the championship can't play because we don't even know if the government are going to let them play.
And then they automatically promote some teams who haven't finished the season because anyone who's got promoted from the championship is a 46 or 49 game slog.
It's similar.
It's a bit like saying...
The FA Cup finishes now.
We can't complete the FA Cup.
We're in the quarterfinals.
We've beaten a championship top six team away.
We've beaten two Premier League teams away.
Does that mean we win the FA Cup then and we qualify for Europe and we all get a medal?
And I know for the two of you in the studio, one of you has won it as a player and one as a manager.
I'm pretty sure you'd think, well, hang on, that devalues how we won the FA Cup.
And I think that's a really important sporting point.
