I was particularly, you know, as a former federal prosecutor, struck by the fact that he would pardon over 1,500 people, especially those that were violent towards law enforcement officers.
When you are a prosecutor, you don't only prosecute someone because they've committed a crime.
You also prosecute someone so that you send a message to society that this type of behavior is unacceptable in our society.
He was on the phone with me, actually.
Okay.
I'm a former federal prosecutor.
He knows.
He's a Harvard grad who teaches fourth grade geometry to South Bronx kids.
He's not a kid who's ever in trouble.
It's an innocent mistake.
I understand you have to take my violation, but it's something.
I had a big interview today and I'm talking about it.
about what I wrote about this weekend and about all of the people I've been hearing from, which has told me a couple of things.
And it made me realize that a lot of us women maybe don't feel as emboldened, empowered, as open in our bodies to the women who I know that read the piece that are going through their own journeys of awakening
I wanted to write about it as it was all related to my work and my mission and God and my body.
It's all connected.
