But you're allowing them to, okay, take a breather.
It's safe to take a breather.
And the routine will come back.
So I always say it depends.
You know, just before, about a week before school starts, get them back into the routine again.
So that by the time school starts, it's not a fight.
So it's a gradual releasing of letting go of the routine and then it's a gradual getting back into the routine.
They do, very much so.
And it's also depending on the age.
Obviously, the smaller the child, the less of letting go of the routine you give.
But it is very important because children of any age, they have no stop button.
You know, they will go and go and go until they crash because they don't really know themselves yet.
Hence, they look outside.
If I'm doing this, if mommy's in charge of this, if daddy's in charge of this, I'm feeling safe.
They're trusting their environment around them.
By giving them routine, by ensuring that they still follow it a little bit, we are teaching them slowly, slowly to learn and trust themselves.
So, oh, okay, you normally go to bed at 7 o'clock, it's holiday, but I'm going to let you go to bed at 9 o'clock.
And why 9 o'clock?
Because past 9 o'clock, then you get too grumpy.
