So people may have to continue medications for life or they may have to keep going on diets, if you like, on and off in order to keep the weight off.

And it's so difficult to keep weight off that I think what that should force us all to do is to think even harder about prevention and about preventing the problem occurring in the first place.

So at the moment, for this generation and probably the next, we absolutely need to treat obesity to improve health.

But in the long run, that is simply not the sustainable response.

The answer is to get our food system right from the word go.

I think when you walk down the high streets, they would look very, very different.

You know, we have so much food advertising, so many food outlets.

And I think that if we really want this healthier, more sustainable food system, I think that that will be transformed.

I don't think that's going to happen in five years.

But I look back, you know, again, thinking about smoking.

Remember what it was like being in a smoky pub yesterday.

Did we actually realise how brilliant it would be to be in that clean air?

And I think we haven't yet understood what a healthy food system looks like.

The inside of the supermarket looks different in the sense of the prominence of what's on display.

I mean, you can eat very healthily from our supermarkets.

There's absolutely no doubt about that.

But on the other hand, you can also come out with a whole load of things you didn't intend to buy and they're generally not the healthiest ones.

So I want to see supermarkets encouraging us, promoting the healthier food rather than the less healthy.

So I think it will look and feel different.

We need a food system reset.
