I write in this book that what really made the decision final was the fact that in 1986 I discovered I had breast cancer.
It was treated.
My prognosis is excellent.
But that was the point at which I said to myself, okay, this is something you've wanted for a long time.
Now is the time to do it.
You don't need this kind of stress in your life anymore.
I take my work very, very personally, and I work awfully, awfully hard, and it doesn't come easily to me.
