With the first one, um, that's a point in time test, which means basically if you turn 60, anytime after that point you stop an existing working arrangement, your money that you've accrued up until that point becomes what we call unrestricted, non-preserved.
So you can access it and create what we call an account based pension or an income stream.
Um and then if you go back to work after that point, that money still stays unpreserved.
So you can continue accessing it.
The money that goes in after that point from your new employment typically becomes preserved until you trigger another condition of release.
So they're the main reasons.
It's a really good question because um a lot of people do assume that it is automatic, which it is not.
Uh so what you typically have to do is you uh you actually apply for a new retirement income stream account, which involves a application.
And then you choose to roll money into that.
So it's not necessarily a conversion or a simple button click.
It is filling in an application form and then specifying how much of your existing accumulation account you want to move into that.
Uh and you don't have to move the whole amount into that new income stream.
A couple of reasons why you wouldn't, um, which we won't go into great depth on right now.

Um typically you create the application, you verify your ID, and you also have to sign a um

Yeah, because realistically, um, if you are age sixty and you stop work, you've met a condition of release.
