defined benefit scheme, there's actually no money contributed from the employer.

So there's no tax on money going in.
But there's this other thing we call uh notional tax contributions, which is a sneaky one.

An assumed
Taxable contribution based on what would have been taxable if you're in a regular accumulation fund.
Uh, and that is used to assess how much taxed contributions you've made so that if you want to make additional deductible contributions to another fund.
You have a limit.
Gotcha.
And that amount c contributes towards that limit.
So it's really important that if you are in one of these types of funds and you're looking at doing some extra salary sacrifice or personal deductible contributions to another fund, you know what your notional tax contributions are first.
