So, you know, we're just creating this further impact on the next generation of young people who have got a mum who's been incarcerated.

And, like, I remember, like, a couple of months ago I went into one of them because we work in the prisons.

A couple of months ago I went in and I sat down with a woman and she goes, oh, I'm getting out like next week.

And I said, oh, that's amazing.

And she goes, yeah, gosh, this last month's been hard.

And I said, oh, God, what did you do a month for?

And she goes, oh, I didn't even know I was coming to prison.

She's like, oh, I drove to work one day.

I got pulled over by the police.

My car, you know, I don't have a license.

And they sent me to court.

And she said –

You know, I dropped my kids off at school, and then I went to court, and I just thought I was going to get a fine.

And they took me to prison from court.

She goes, I didn't even tell my kids I was going to court.

So she's like, her kids didn't even know she missed her daughter's graduation.

She's, you know, can't, she was working in youth work, so now she can't be a youth worker because she's been in prison.

You won't get a blue card in Queensland.

Yeah.

I'm like, for what?
