Appearances
Alright, we've got some bad news.
The Padres are in Arizona and they play tonight, but Nick Pavetta and Joe Musgrove pitched in Lake Elsinore today.
One of them was successful, the other was not, and we don't have a full update on Nick Pavetta, but that's where we're going to start because he exited after an apparent injury.
I'm going to show you this video.
This is from the minor league broadcast today.
And you're going to see for the YouTube audience, you're going to see him immediately walk off the mound as if he thought it was strike three.
Didn't really know, like, is he hurt?
Then he hesitates a little bit, stops, and then continues to the dugout.
Looks like maybe a trainer was right there patting him on the back.
And then he walks straight into the tunnel.
So I was a little confused.
Maybe you will be if you haven't seen the video.
Walked straightly to the dugout.
I thought when he walked into the dugout and straight to the clubhouse, that was like, all right, that's an injury.
That's not him being mad that he didn't get strike three.
And this was his first inning of work because Musgrove threw the first three innings.
And Pavetta was on, I think, pitch number 12.
No, 14th pitch.
Sorry.
At least Jeff Sanders says he was on his 14th pitch.
