But hip-hop has changed so much.

I feel like when people see L.A.

Russell, it's easy to be like, oh, this is corny, this is that, this is whatever.

But I feel like the shit he's doing really embodies the hustle, the grind, the soul, the essence of hip-hop.

Whether you don't agree with his lyrics and the way he presents it and stuff, it's so nostalgic and refreshing in a way.

And I remember when his shit was like low quality, low budget, just him and his cousin going for it and shit.

And I feel like- In the garage type, I seen that, yep.

And I feel like people were more supportive then, but then when he started to have this major motion, now all the criticisms come and shit like that.

And also too, like with the new Bay Area kids, like I'm saying like my generation, right?

Like we were young when the hyphy shit was going on.

Those kids were like not out in the streets.

And like now the people that perform with Keek the Sneak and all those fools, when they pull up to like Lake Merritt or some shit, they have like a tiny desk show or whatever.

Like those kids are like still doing like hyphy dances or whatever, but it's like about positivity.

Like now the community centers are in like full action.

And it's like, you can still express this essence of the Bay, but we don't want you out here gigging off the beans and fucking, you know, jerking with a strap and shit like that.
