It wasn't even like a clearing out of my current wardrobe.
It was like old stuff that I've just been keeping in boxes and thinking, oh, maybe I'll wear that one day.
And I had to get really honest with myself and be like, this is no longer me.
I've evolved.
This is no longer for me.
And I got rid of three utilitarian jumpsuits and
And it really took me back to a time where I was trying to really simplify my style.
And I think I was looking for I think I was in like my mid to late 20s.
And I was like, maybe I'm a jumpsuit girl.
Maybe I just need to be one and done and wear jumpsuits.
And it was like I look back at that and I go, that wasn't it.
For me, I was trying something new and it's not that there's anything wrong with jumpsuits, but I realized actually what I was responding to there was a sense of simplicity and ease that I found in other ways now.
So for example...
when I want to be one and done with dressing now as a more mature woman I love to throw on like a long sleeve long hem bohemian maxi dress I don't mean like a really frilly flowery one I mean like a chic one yeah that's how I do that you know if I want to just like throw in and go it's that dress for me it's like that feels more right for me a jumpsuit isn't it
And I guess the lesson I'm trying to say, like sometimes you try things and you realize they're not for you and it's okay to let them go.
Like these were high value pieces that I spent a lot of money on, but they just weren't serving me anymore.
So let that go and figure out what you're trying to get at with what you're buying and what it is instead.
It's probably because I saw someone wearing an incredible Isabel Marant utilitarian jumpsuit and was trying to emulate that.
But actually like there's different ways of achieving that boho aesthetic without me actually buying a whole ass jumpsuit.
Yeah, and then I'd like think about a brand like The Row, which we speak about a lot, and I'm like I can appreciate it but it's just not me.
