So if you want to do math research but you're not part of like a graduate program, you're not at a university where β
there are tons of people who do math research all day for many years, then you're not even going to know what are the open problems that I should be working on.
What is reasonable to attack?
What is not reasonable to attack?
What papers in this field contain important techniques?
You're just going to have no idea.
So it's very important to be plugged into that feed of information somehow.
But how did you know all this shit before being plugged in?
