Wow.
Is it just me?
No, it's definitely not just you.
But I do think that it's multifaceted.
It's not just like the one thing.
You know, when I hear you explain it the way you've just explained it, the first thing that really pops into my head is,
Are you sure that's what an elevator pitch is for?
Are we really supposed to get our entire experience, life history and the worth we can create for other people into an elevator pitch that is less than 60 seconds?
And I think that's what people try to do.
They try to tell people everything and trip over the most important things.
Whereas I see elevator pitches really as the beginning of a conversation and its only job is to spark enough interest for somebody to want to continue the conversation.
And actually, if you try and get the features of what you do in it,
and not the benefits, then I'm not interested in actually who you are or what you do.
I'm interested in what you can do for me.
So I wonder if it's – we think we've got to get all of this into this –
90 second spiel and we've got to do ourselves absolute justice and the longer we've been doing something the more that needs to go into it because that must really be volume must be value volume must equal value that's what i feel yeah question mark um
um so that's the first thing is like a it's horrible that whole waiting for your turn and then having to having to explain yourself i'm sure that there's probably childhood trauma somewhere but it feels very just like trying to justify your existence justify your existence
And then, you know, for me, the purpose is just to give people enough that sparks their interest about what you do.
And usually that's probably framing it in terms of how you can help them as opposed to, you know, giving a narrative around your life story.
