And I'm just going to go for it.

I mean, they were like blowjob jokes about the sponsors who were sitting there.

I don't think I would have been that impressed.

I just don't think any of that stuff is appropriate.

There was jokes about like semen and stuff.

I mean, what are we doing here?

Is that something you want your brand next to?

It just shows to me that they've lost sight of what's appropriate.

Moving on from the ick factor, the fifth reason I think is what I'm calling the unreliable partner problem.

So I think employers are realizing that they've taken a lot of bad advice from people, from external activists, advisors who they trusted when they shouldn't have done.

I think a lot of heads of DEI came into their organisations masquerading as people who were going to streamline and modernise their organisation but have in fact brought in a whole load of really bad ideas and some pretty dodgy policies, to be honest, which they now need to get it out of there and also brought that into the culture more broadly.

I think they've trusted their LGBT staff networks as well.

They've given much too much credence to their lived experience

Not realizing that those people don't represent the entire breadth of people who are LGB, who might have very different feelings on this stuff.

Those people seem to have left those networks.

So you're getting a very distorted view of what this collection of people coming under LGBT seems to involve these days.

They've also taken advice from Stonewall, who they thought they can trust, all sorts of external speakers who turned out to have absolutely no qualifications in anything, and even the CIPD, who we also know have got all this stuff wrong.

So they've taken an awful lot of bad advice from people who they've trusted.

And some of the other people that they've trusted were what they would call partners.

So this is a euphemism for meaning a supplier.
