It's easier to do that than it once was.

Certainly, that's what we're hearing.

Also discussed at my event, there's been a quiet wave of staff networks being defunded, disbanded or stripped of their influence, disempowered in some way.

I think they have now concluded that these groups, although they seem like a good idea for about five minutes around 2020, they're now seen as creating more risk than benefit.

That would definitely chime with what I've been seeing on LinkedIn from the activist speakers and trainers, I use the term loosely, who've been saying since May that they're just not getting booked for the speaker gigs that they used to get and were certainly getting two years ago.

It was quieter last year as well, but that really, really seems to have dried up.

So quite often the budget for those external people coming in

would be given directly to the LGBT staff group who didn't seem to have a huge amount of oversight from more senior people and were allowed to do their own thing.

The only reason why those speaker gigs would be drying up would be because the employers have taken control.

So, of course, no one's saying any of this stuff openly.

It's all very behind the scenes, a very hush-hush.

The messaging being pushed out internally is much quieter and certainly externally, again, much more careful what we're seeing.

So we're seeing lots of them doing what they do best, which is hiding behind sort of business euphemisms and corporate jargon.

There's lots of talk of resetting, realigning and reviewing.

They're asking lots of rhetorical questions like, hmm, is it time to reassess whether we listen to a broad enough range of voices on this?
