And on Sunday, ICE announced that Victor Manuel Diaz, an immigrant from Nicaragua who was detained in Minneapolis, died at Camp East Montana on January 14th of a, quote, presumed suicide.

An autopsy is being done.

The Nonpartisan Council on Criminal Justice says murders in the 35 largest U.S.

cities fell 21 percent last year, the biggest one-year drop ever and likely the lowest rate since 1900.

Eleven of 13 tracked crimes were lower in 2025 than in 2024.

CCJ President Adam Gelb says it's hard to tell what drove the drop, citing shifts in criminal justice policies and advances in crime-fighting technology.

Violent crime was already falling to a two-decade low in President Joe Biden's final year.

The numbers collected did not include stats from Jackson, Mississippi or Birmingham, Alabama, which the FBI says had the top two highest murder rates per 100,000 people in 2024.

The shooting happened when the officers were called to investigate a threat with a knife, and upon arriving, someone opened fire on them.

A statement from Secret Service Deputy Director Matthew Quinn confirms the suspension of the agent and says his clearance and access to agency facilities and systems has been revoked.
