Efforts to rebrand the holiday celebrating Cesar Chavez on his birthday have been swift following allegations that he sexually abused women and girls.
Chavez, who died in 1993, was a Latino labor leader and activist who co-founded a union that eventually became the United Farm Workers.
His March 31st birthday was made a federal holiday in 2014, and California has celebrated it as a paid holiday for the past 25 years.
Last week, Governor Gavin Newsom signed legislation changing the name of it to Farm Workers Day, and some cities are renaming streets and removing Chavez's name from schools and community events.
Other celebrations honoring him have seen name changes in Arizona, Colorado, and Texas.

The group that's calling for the sweeping change has drafted its policy for the Federal Advisory Commission on Immunization Practices, the panel that advises the government on vaccine policy.
The report cites a 2023 survey conducted online and via telephone by Rasmussen, a conservative-leaning polling firm that says nearly one in four Americans reported knowing someone who died from a COVID vaccine, according to the New York Times.
As a result, the work group wants better tracking and treatment of injury from the shots.
