Okay, I wanna get into some of the specific diaries in this book.
One is by the sixty seven year old woman living in California.
One thing that she said that stuck out to me.
Is that this is a woman who has a number of partners, but she describes the simplicity of her life.
I mean, I think for a lot of people who perhaps have never been in a non monogamous relationship of any kind, the idea
that she raises that juggling multiple partners can also be something that is an experience of simplicity.
That might sound unfamiliar or unlikely.

There are a number of sex diaries that seem to find
A relationship where people are at a crossroads, like the investment banker advocating for an open marriage.
This is a 44-year-old who's married and he writes about this moment when more than 15 years into their marriage, his wife asks them this big question.
She asks, Have you ever had a crush on somebody and wanted to act on it?
What did you take away from couples like this one?

Because I wonder
I hear you saying we should be able to say these things, and yet I can envision a situation and relationships I've been in in the past that that could also be really hurtful or hard to hear, especially if you are a person that doesn't want to go act on your crush, that doesn't want to go flirt with somebody else.
Esther Perell, the famed relationship and intimacy therapist, wrote the foreword to this book, and she notes that readers of sex diaries they want to see.
If its subjects succeed, and I'm quoting her here, and if they fail, there's part of us that might feel reassured.
