I take responsibility for my share of that.

I, as a minister, really, you know, I'm not going to rest until we are better as a nation on this.

And

every person who has a platform has to raise their voice against family, domestic and sexual violence.

And, you know, that's why I'm grateful to you.

This is, you know, the second time we've done one of these interviews.

You using the opportunity you have to highlight this issue, every one of us can do our share.

I do know that we're making progress in some areas and that's happened because of the hard work of people, mostly women, who work in refuges, who work on the frontline, supporting victims of family, domestic and sexual violence every day.

How do I feel about it?

I feel sick about it.

I feel sick and sad because...

Despite those steps forward, we see new challenges emerging every time.

And so many of those new challenges are driven by the online world and those online harms spilling into the real world, offline world.

And the idea that this is being done for profit by companies who could choose not to do it really sickens me.

I mean, we will legislate, we will do the work as government, but the biggest thing that every person can do right now is strengthen those real-world bonds that they have with young people, be someone that they can talk to and ask questions of.

Don't think that you're protecting kids by not talking to them about sex and particularly about things like choking during sex.

We don't protect our kids by not talking to them.

We can only protect them by strengthening them

loving bonds we have with them and opening up channels of communication so every one of us has an opportunity and a responsibility to do that
