This summer I read a book called Marriage at Sea, and it's the true story of Maurice and Marilyn, who were sailing the Pacific when their boat was struck by a harpooned whale and began to go down.

So they had to escape into their dinghy and their life raft without any electrical system on board their ship to alert the Coast Guard that the ship was sinking.

They were in the middle of the Pacific.

So what happened is they drifted from the side.

For 118 days, while seven ships cruised by, never seeing them because their flares didn't work.

Now while they were on this dinghy and life raft, they had a myriad of problems.

They were angered by the weight of Maurice's depression and his lack of desire to survive.
