So pointing towards the challenge for the US Federal Reserve uh in terms of uh to what extent can they s ease policy uh if uh firms are passing on these these high costs and if that gets embedded into inflation expectations. matched

The Dallas Fed survey also has some really interesting comments, and it's fair to say this is probably a more administration friendly survey, just given that it is in uh Texas and it is amongst manufacturers. matched

So there's a bit of sympathy for Trump's agenda here, but even amongst most of the respondents, um the sentiment is uh the administration is going too fast, and maybe tariffs wasn't the way to kind of um process. matched

Execute that agenda. matched

There's a few comments in there saying that interest rates need to be lower now. matched

And so I think that call for the US Federal Reserve to start lowering rates will continue to grow. matched

And just emphasizing the uncertainty that's being quite pervasive across the soft economic data, I'll just read out two anecdotes here. matched

And uh one of them is there is really no way to predict anything accurately, six months out or even six weeks out now for our industry due to the tariff and trade uncertainty. matched

And the second one is the tariff issue is a mess, and we are now starting to see vendors passing along increases, which will have to in turn pass along to our customers. matched

Because of this, we are very concerned about general business activity for the next six to nine months. matched

So you can clearly see that there's a lot of uncertainty in the US manufacturing sector. matched

And that's also reflected in a Wall Street Journal article that's uh summarizing some of the profit reporting season anecdotes, uh talking about matched

about how US companies uh because of all the uncertainty uh in terms of the external sector are really looking internally in terms of cut out cutting costs and right sizing to prepare themselves for potential headwinds. matched

indeed and uh many companies today have effectively pulled their forward forward guidance. matched

So uh I I I think the commentary on the current uh state, the current activity is gonna be quite quite interesting, particularly from the retailers but also from the manufacturers such as Caterpillar there. matched

Uh the other big thing um that's obviously occurring today is uh Trump's a hundred day uh rally. matched

Um so celebrating his hundred days uh in power. matched

And um uh there matched

So for for markets, what they're wanting to see, I think, is a bit of a pivot from trade towards a deregulation and tax cut agenda. matched
