What are your values and priorities?
And they'll make a totally different list.
Exactly.
And this is another thing that there's so much misunderstanding about because we think that if my problem is that I'm thinking about myself in a negative way, my solution is going to be thinking about myself in a really positive way.
The solution is actually not thinking about yourself.
And so this is a more radical piece.
I'm like, someone show me a piece of evidence of why we need to be self-assessing.
I don't see it.
And I work with a very wide range of women.
Say more, say more.
So if I am there looking in the mirror, trying to gear myself up, I can do this.
I'm competent, you know, that kind of stereotypical image.
I'm kind of building my house on a very rocky foundation because confidence comes and goes, as you know, and as you talk about a lot, there's a lot of failure along the way.
So if I motivated myself today by trying to convince myself that this thing was definitely going to work out great, I just have lied to myself because it's not going to definitely work out great.
What we actually need to be saying to ourselves is it might not work out today and we will get up again and I'll be on your side, honey.
And I'm not going to beat you up if that happens.
So exactly what you're talking about with principles, we don't want to try to boost ourselves up by thinking better of ourselves.
It's really about thinking bigger than yourself.
And the calling or your mission or your values is what is big enough and true enough to
And sustained enough that it will carry you over self-doubt because you essentially care so much about whatever you feel called to do that you don't have time and space to worry about whether you're the one.
