So it's not just constantly talking negatively about our bodies and feeling crap about our bodies.
If we can build that foundation of functionality over appearance and how do I feel as opposed to how I look, it helps in those moments when things get a bit wobbly.
Excuse the pun.
Yeah, absolutely.
Yeah, I mean, I think midlife, I mean, it's almost a joke some of the things on the list that happen to our bodies.
Like I think sometimes, you know, you've got to laugh because otherwise you'll just, you know, be rocking in a corner.
There are a lot of changes and, again, I think it comes back to the acceptance of as many of those changes as possible but putting the layer of self-compassion over the top of all of the thinking that you'll do and the feelings that you'll have.
I mean, it applies to anything, you know, with a changing body.
But I think for such a long time we have been on the receiving end of,
messages that have made us feel shame and felt bad about our bodies.
But I think if we can really flip that narrative and think about how incredible our bodies are and all the things our bodies do and do a significant amount of reframing, I think that can be helpful for women.
Yeah, I mean it should almost be like technically relearn because, as I mentioned earlier, we weren't born into the world hating our bodies.
It's something the world has taught us because if you reflect back to really young people, young kids, and if they hear music,
They're dancing.
If they see a sprinkler, whether they've got clothes on or not, they're running through it and it's so full of joy.
Like that's actually who we are before the world gets to us with the messages.
So...
Yeah, we have to sort of go back to who we instinctively are when we were born.
It's just that for so many of us.
That's decades and decades and decades ago of unhelpful messaging that has made us feel pretty crap.
