The reason I say they're vague is because the times that vague goals overlap, they have two completely different ideas, policies that they're proposing to achieve that.

People on the left wing view people as blank slates, and then people on the right view people as part of a larger hierarchy.
This is like the foundations of political philosophy.

People are somewhere in between.
That's why people on the left are typically not religious.
People on the right are typically religious.
I know there's exceptions, but they don't disprove the norm.
