I think the answer to that is no, because Lionel Messi has said even himself that
that in order to play in this World Cup, he's got to be 100% match fit.
Now, a lot of us would say, well, maybe that is load management.
It's the opposite when you're at his age.
Any single time you can get yourself 65, 75, 90 minutes,
he will do so.
Messi believes that he can only get that kind of fitness in games, not in training.
Now, in saying that, they've got CONCACAF Champions Cup, they've got MLS, they're going to have Argentina friendlies.
If there's a little wiggle here or there, to steal an English phrase, I would absolutely expect Messi to be very mindful that he doesn't want to expose himself
But if he can play the game, he's going to play the game.
He's always done that.
He always will do that.
