The incident remained under investigation.

And the battle to take over Congressman Marjorie Taylor Greene's seat in Georgia will be extended.

That's after none of the several candidates running got the 50% plus one to avoid a runoff next month.

The top two vote getters, Republican Clayton Fuller and Democrat Sean Harris, will face each other on April 7th.

Fuller was endorsed by President Trump.

Authorities say Timothy O'Connor was shot Sunday night while conducting a stop in West Callen Township near Compass and Michael Rhodes.

Shortly after 9 p.m., officials say the veteran trooper later died from his injuries.

At a late-night briefing, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro made the announcement.

Local leaders are now mourning the loss with Chester County Commissioner Eric Rowe thanking officers who he says put their lives on the line every day.

Police say the suspected gunman exited his vehicle after fatally shooting the officer and shot and killed himself.

The investigation continues.
