oil prices soared more than 11% on Thursday, settling at $111.54 a barrel and closed higher than Brent Crude for the first time in nearly four years.

Brent settled at $109 a barrel.

Crude jumped as hopes for a near-term end to the war faded following President Trump's address to the nation Wednesday night.

Stocks finished mixed.

The Dow lost 61.

NASDAQ gained 38.
