She's heard us talk about antipsychotics and weight gain on the Health Report, which we talked about a couple of weeks ago.

Alice says she has schizophrenia and has taken a few different medications, and between three that she mentions,

She's gained between 25 and 40 kilos, which puts her in the obese category now, even though before she was on these medications she was sedentary but hadn't gained much weight.

And her experience of the medication is that she does not feel any hungrier than she did before getting sick, doesn't think she's eating anymore, and thinks that it might be actually changes on the metabolism.

She wants us to communicate this as a possibility because uh makes the point.

that blaming diet and exercise makes it sound like something schizophrenics can control, whereas in fact she's doing everything she can.
