Well, James has emailed in to say I listened to your recent episode about CGMs, continuous glucose monitors, with interest and excitement as I f realize I finally have an N of One experiment to share with you.
We love them for anecdote reasons and but look, it's not it's not the most scientifically robust type of study, but it is a very fun type of study.

Well, James says my average blood glucose for many years hovered around 5.7, which is close to the pre-diabetic range.
However, my fasting glucose and a glucose tolerance test has always been normal.
Given my otherwise normal markers and generally obsessively healthy lifestyle, my GP has never been too worried.
Nevertheless, a couple of years ago, I thought I'd do some more investigation of my own and signed up for a CGM.

After a few days of wearing it, James says, I noticed quite large spikes after eating.
Thankfully, these went down after a couple of hours, but the magnitude and slope of the spikes were a bit concerning.
Not completely trusting this thing, I invested in a fingerprick glucose monitor and thought I would compare the two.
