Under the deal, Constellation will revive that undamaged reactor with the power generated to be sold to Microsoft under a 20-year deal.

The plant will add around 800 megawatts of power generation to the grid, the energy secretary said, helping with the tech industry's insatiable demand for 24-7 power needs for its AI data centers.

Constellation shares gained 5.3% Wednesday and closed out the week down a tenth of a point.
