Yeah, you know, in the past, we've tried to figure out what's the size of D&D and kind of what does this tell us about where D&D is? And this is super complicated these days. I don't know that BookScan is useful anymore. And plus, we don't have a source of it that anyone has shared recently.

But it's really hard to tell, like, how well are things working, say, on D&D Beyond, where the margin must be much, much higher. But it's hard to know what the numbers are. You're not getting that general public that leads to just millions of players handbooks being sold. They've had distribution partnerships, you know, break down that it doesn't look like they've really replaced. Right.

You can't get this at Target and so on. So they've talked about getting it on there. It's really hard to break any of that down. But a friend of the show, Sipio, again, did his best to figure out D&D's size. While we don't know, you know, nothing was told as it was last quarter about the digital versus paper or tabletop revenues.

So we just have to assume that it's sort of in the same 50 to 60 percent that we've heard about for the last two quarters. Making that assumption, we can take the Wizards of the Coast total, subtract out the total for Magic, subtract out Baldur's Gate 3, subtract out Monopoly Go, and hope that that's close enough to give you the D&D total.

It's always hard because there could be some extra little bits in there, but let's assume that's a pretty good bit, and we can kind of do that reliably across the quarters now with what they provide. But it could slightly overestimate D&D's side. So just cautionary note there. This is not hard math. But by the estimate, Scipio draws the conclusion that 2023 D&D total was $266.8 million.

In 2024, $284.7 million. Okay. Okay. Quarterly estimates are pretty similar between 2023 and 2024, except for Q4 2024 is much higher, up about 27% over the average of the previous seven quarters. The differences between the years are all within low to mid single digits. For Q1 to Q3, it's $17.2 million for Q4.

So what Scipio believes is this is starting to show that the 2024 release probably did move the needle on D&D revenue, which is something we could not see in Q3. That's really very interesting. Also, something that I've been kind of hammering on recently and he and I have been chatting about is Baldur's Gate 3 and Monopoly Go is sort of like the way forward, right?

This is what we hear all the time in corporate speak of, you know, if I put on my CEO hat, you know, this is our bold new future, right, of licensing and all this. Well, those totals are $105 million in 2023, $148 million in 2024. D&D is still almost double that. So D&D is like the quiet, stable thing that may not be super exciting. And it isn't like magic, of course.

But compared to these other things that they like to talk about, D&D does really well.

And all they mentioned was, hey, we had one fewer. They didn't talk about the success of set A or B. And really the only set I recall them really, really talking about is the Lord of the Rings set because it did so well. There are so many things they could mention, right? They could mention they've clearly... push the pedal on the number of releases for Secret Lair and things like that.
