A big one there is this slashing, bludgeoning, slashing, bludgeoning, piercing that was often weapons. Yeah, exactly right. I would say that, you know, if it's from a non-magical source, that non-magical piece is completely gone. So Tom breaks it down to say that 44 out of the 54 monsters that had this are just no longer resistant.

The rest have the resistance to all slashing, bludgeoning, piercing, which is substantial, right? A big bonus. But those that lost the resistance had higher hit points given to them to mitigate the chain. So it's sort of the same, but it's more of a common experience, right? Because it doesn't matter what kind of weapons you have.

Yeah. And Tom has a very complex way there. I mean, not complex. It's straightforward. But he has he has a deeper way that he looks at what, you know, power level or damages the same way that he will look at, say, like, it's not just to hit bonus, but does something give you advantage? Right. And if you can reliably get advantage, well, that's a bonus to your accuracy.

And so he'll go in and include those things. When I was doing my analysis of the monsters, I did not go to that level of detail. But I still saw a very similar thing that above, I think it was CR6 and higher, so same conclusion he had. I just see the damage, you know, really went up. Now, what I've said is that I think the damage went up to be pretty close to what 2014's DMG told us to achieve.

But the old monsters didn't hit that right for various reasons like, oh, well, I'm resistant to something or have this other thing. I impose this condition. Now they really do hit that kind of level. So I don't know that my argument was I don't think they changed the goalposts.

They just actually got the ball in there versus coming up with some reason why it shouldn't because the monster was otherwise strong.

So that the easiest thing to think about it is, you know, if the monster dies in round three, well, did it get to go? Yeah, exactly. But even beyond that, it's can it go first and sort of, you know, organize its AOE pattern, any of this. So it's a tricky thing to figure the math on, but it's a very strong thing to go faster. And this has been a big boost to a lot of monsters, which is interesting.

Just another thank you to Tom for working through all this. It's really amazing. Thank you. For sure.

Yeah. Yeah, it'll be interesting to see, you know, there had been a to be disclosed later book that was on the list of releases coming out this year. So maybe this is what this is. The other books that they did talk about coming out were all this or most of them had some sort of, you know, this is a new way that we're doing this, right?

Like the encounters will be very light and approach or any number of other things like that that were sort of this is a different story. type of book than what you may have seen before. And so I'm curious whether we will see this also experiment with the format of what the product is like.
