I mean, if you look forward to the French Revolution and again, the awareness of levelling there, you know, we might think partly what the Jacobins are trying to do is have this idea of levelling up in the sense that even commoners ought to enjoy the privilege of being executed by beheading, which is how aristocrats had traditionally been executed.
So again, sometimes the egalitarianism doesn't cash out in the way that maybe we expect it to.
