It's so hippie and earthy and crazy energy in this place.
And I'm sitting in this wooden dome house called the Butterfly House reading through these birth stories and these women talking about these psychedelic births and these rushes and one with the universe.
And I was like, oh,
high high off of this stuff and then I discovered this website called mysticmama.com and it was kind of this intersection of spirituality and motherhood and and I just it piqued my interest and it lit me up unlike anything else and I knew then and there like how I want to birth like these women are birthing in this book all the representation I'm seeing on screen is like screw
screaming, so much pain, women lying on their backs, being told when to push and panic.
And it was so fear inducing.
I remember like that representation was like, I was terrified of birth before I read about these positive birth stories.
And I thought, oh, I didn't even know that birth could look and sound like this.
I'm just going to pull this little thread.
And I kept pulling and I realized there are millions of these positive, incredible, beautiful stories out there.
And they're getting drowned out in so many ways because the media is focusing on a lot of the fear mongering surrounding birth.
And birth is extreme and wild and it can definitely not go according to plan.
And there's room for all of that as well.
But
Why was it I finding it so hard to find these positive, affirming birth stories?
And then that's when my interest in the birth world really begun.
And I met my man and it was on.
I was like, and we're having a baby.
Let's go.
